Scott, That is great, I was never able to keep the water out on matter what I
did. I gave up, I found that an ill fitting boot was way worse than no boot
at all. So I just run my boots with no lower clamps at all. A boot that fills
with water won't let the water out so once the water gets in it cannot get
out, weeks after you swim those shafts are still wet. I find if you grease a
lot the boots are more of a grease container than a water proof container. So
the water comes in then runs out and dries, the grease keeps the water out of
the shafts and the boots only keeps the grease from slinging all over the
tunnels. You gotta understand we swim our car almost every day so if the
boots hold any water at all the shafts would never dry, and that's not a good
thing.
Well that's how I do it-Tommy in Tampa

Last year I used a universal rack and pinion boot fom Auto Zone. The boots are
very flexable and plenty long enough. They are also only like $6. I used a
plastic zip tie at both ends. I have the axles out now and the boots look good
and there is no moisture in the shafts.

I am hoping someone with extra time can follow this lead. Gortite
"Most diverse line of covers in the industry" Custom bellows covers. 800
298 2066 or www.gortite.com. Perhaps we can get axle boots that work
and last. Plus trans to body boot. Later Dave the Wave

I think it was Doug Parsons who mentioned that he
discovered that the boots used in bank hydraulic
systems (for sending money tubes to and from drive-in
windows) are exact matches for the Amphi axle boot.
He mentioned he found a source for them and was going
to be doing further investigation.
