Yup, after 2 1/2+ years of work, The Amphicar Extraordinaire is now
sea worthy! We took her out yesterday to a private lake. She had one
minor, leak easilly fixed. She is now virtually dribble free! WOO
HOO!!!!!

So now I need to figure out if the noises I hear from the trans are
the drive shafts or ??. The side glass needs installed and that is
about it. Celina - Here I come!!

Do you hear a ticking when cruising in the water? Did you neglect to add
some nice fresh grease to the "ungreasable" propellor shaft u-joints?
After 35 to 40 years, the old grease is probably not much good. Depending
on what they look like, sometimes a little fresh grease (you do have to
disassemble the joint to repack it this way!) will add some more life to
the old joint. Other experiences with those joints indicate the bearings
are rusty and going to give out anyway... So, carefully take em apart and
take a look. If its a ticking sound, that could be it.
