Another Amphicar video on You Tube

Love it! I named my 1st Amphicar (purchased in 1997) "The Minnow" thinking in my spare time it may take 3 years to complete. I was working in High Tech industry 50+ hrs a week at the time so spare time was a rarity. The name was a play on the 3 hour tour lyric from Gilligan's island. Now 12 years later, that very car whick I pulled from a very wet barn in Alabama is now "the Boat-mobile" umm I mean "the Batmobile" Amphicar created by Roger Salee.

I know there are hundreds of Amphicar videos on You Tube, but, selfishly, I was impressed with my friend's camera and editing skills as he put this one together of me driving in Irvine Lake in Orange County, CA this past weekend.

Enjoy!

Ed- Where exactly is Irvine Lake in reference to let's say MCAS El Toro or the split between the I-5 and 405? I can't seem to place it. That looks a little better than Miramar, No? - azpaul50

Irvine Lake (sometimes referred to as Santiago Reservoir on maps) is located about seven miles East of the 55 freeway at Chapman Ave (Orange, CA). It's a nice "slow boat" fishing lake that is extra full this year due to the nice rainy season that we had here.

Much bigger than Miramar.

Great video, great car! I can't believe it is the same car I sold you over 8 years ago! What a tremendous job of restoration.
