Admittedly having fueled the recent fire by calling for said IAOC board member’s voluntary resignation and forum banishment I hereby respectfully offer this “Olive Branch Resolution” (OBR) for the sole purposes of saving face and the reunification of this forum and the amphibious population at large.
Purposed OBR actions:
1). Immediate cessation from all parties involved of further hostilities, threats, allegations, innuendos, name calling, legalistic action and general negative connotations via electronic media (emails, forum postings, phone calls, websites, Twitter and/or Facebook accounts, etc.) and old school non-electronic media such as, but not limited to: bumper stickers, posters, banners, graffiti, giant roadside signs and those hideous advertising panel vans.
2). Acknowledgement that what has passed is indeed in the past and it will NOT be dredged up for a third time for the sake of Darwin or whatever deity each of us holds in highest esteem. This is the preverbal bury the hatchet part of the OBR that is essential for mutual success. After all, the main points of dissention are so… 2008, and really passé by today’s knarly 2009 standards.
3). A humble request made to this forum’s esteemed moderator to expunge all associated postings at said moderator’s discretion and/or at the submitting poster/author’s request. This isn’t meant to cover our webbed footprints in the sands of history, but rather as a sort of assurance against total annihilation in the unlikely event the entire fate of the human race, the very planet itself, is someday judged by this forum’s content. (The likelihood of advanced civilizations being of amphibious origins is, after all, somewhat probable so we Amphi folks need to stick together if we are to be spared the apocalypse.)
The purposed OBR is perhaps a bit tongue in cheek but the intended levity kind of adds to the spirit of forgiveness without the need for gushing apologies and limp wristed handshakes. So there you have it.
All in favor say… Aye! :045:
Those opposed… please take a deep breath, exhale through your gills and make a positive suggestion for going forward or forever hold your breath and fade into amphibious oblivion.
