Amsoil

Hi
I have an Amphicar and am planning to put it back in the water this summer after about 6-years of being dry stored. I want to change all the fluid levels and used to use Amsoil for the transmission/s but cant seem to locate the same grade oil I used to use. The one I used to use was labeled "Gear Lube" and had a 80w90 API GL-4 rating. I cant seem to find the sameone on-line and wondered if anyone can recommend an alternative to Amsoil or is it still considered the best for Amphicars?

I heard Redline produce a product that is suitable?

Thanks

Are the land and water transmission reservoirs seperate? I have about a quart of the Amsoil (GL-4)product left and if I used this in the water trans would it be ok to use the Redline (MT-90 75W90 GL-4) product in the land trans?

Thanks

They are separate. If they are both GL-4 gear oils you should be fine. If your seals are leaky, oil from one may migrate to the other.
