Hi,
I am looking at a 1967 Amphicar. It seems like it is a survivor from New York state. I am here in Florida. Everything is there except the two hold downs on the front hood. It has some rust, but from what I can tell not too bad overall. There is, however, rust through over the rear wheel wells. My question is: .
Is it the actual body that makes the car float or is there an inner "boat" under the sheet metal body panels that carries the car. I reached under the car fender area and was very surprised at the thickness of the metal that appears to run from the front to the rear underneath.
