Hi everyone,
Finally have signed up here and got activated so I can now post this message ive been very interested to find out the answer to!
I have been thinking about finding an amphicar for sale and seeing if I
can import it to australia and convert to right hand drive (could the
amphicar be converted to right hand drive)? I don't know if there is any
or many in australia. I think Sea World has one or something similar on
the Gold Coast in one of their shows but I haven't seen any others.
My question is, could one of these cars handle the following 5 days a
week (monday-friday) or would this be impossible/very hard work to keep
the vehicle going under these circumstances:
3 mile water trip followed by a 32 mile car trip on road, return each
day (so all up 6 miles of water travel and 64 miles of road)? This water
component would be in a calm salt water bay. That would add to 300 miles
land and 60 miles water a week.
The reason I ask is a car 40 yrs old to be subject to that sounds a bit
cruel ! But I know back 'in the day' cars were built a lot more solid.
On a side note, I am really curious as to what makes the amphicar float
given its made of metal!
Thanks for ur thoughts all
