Hi All,
So, how have you been injured by your Amphicar? Given my latest incident, I am starting to think that Toyota Corolla's may be better suited to me.
This morning I re-hooked up my oil cooler. After starting the engine I heard an odd noise which turned out to be that I had not fully tightened the hose fitting near the filter. My garage door was about halfway down. I peeked under the car and as I came back up I hit my ear on the galvanized metal handle of the garage door. 5 stitches and a tetanus shot and I am back home!! At least the oil cooler is now as it should be.
Of course my most significant amphicar related injury was breaking my elbow while picking up an enclosed trailer for Amphi. Despite 3 hours of surgery and 40+ hours of PT, further surgery will eventually prove inevitable! The worst part about that incident was that the trailer really turned out to be too small to load without extreme difficulty so I sold it before I ever hauled Amphi so much as around the block with it.
I do not count the numerous skinned knuckles and minor cuts accumulated over the years.
Cheers,
Mike
