Amphicar hardtop How about it Gord?

I owned an MG midget years ago that had an aftermarket fiberglass hardtop. Would
anyelse like to see one made for the Amphicar? I'm not a Fiberglass pro but
seeing what Gord has offered i thought I'd through this out there. I'm sure othe
cold climate Amphis would be interested. Any thoughts...

Hi Craig,
A "hardtop" would be a "neat" custom touch, and I'm sure if anyone
could build one, it would be Gord. BUT, as a "sinking survivor", I
would without doubt leave the hardtop on the shore. No roof in the way
makes escaping a sinking car much easier! To this day, I will not enter
the water with the roof up!

Good point. Recall about two years ago when a bunch
of people lost their lives when a DUCK went down fast.
Apparently, most of them got trapped underneath the
awning which covered the passenger compartment.

I do not imagine that most people actually drive their
Amphis much in the winter. Unless you are wearing a
thermal wet suit, swiming in the winter is ill
advised.

I used to own an overpriced German convertible and
only had the hard top on it twice, the day I brought
it home and the day I got rid of it. The rest of the
time it just took up space in the basement.
