Amphipoda:
Fish, tatar sauce and cheese. I assume bread is not one of the three.

Mermaid and I finally took a trip up to
the Deer Park Winery & Auto Museum,
Escondido, CA, 30 minutes north of SD.
The museum claims to be the largest
collection of American convertibles on
the planet. Mostly 40's and 50's gems,
a few 60's and yes... one lone red Amphi.
I knew she was a female '65, due to the
big red lips (on the rear fenders).
She looked pretty sad behind the glass
case, fenders rusting, chrome all dull,
and a pathetic sad look of boredom.
My heart ached seeing that poor Amphi,
knowing she hasn't had a proper swim
in many years. The book/movie "Turtle
Diary" (by Russell Hoban) came to mind,
but jail time is not for Amphipoda.
The Deer Park Deli/Gift Shop did provide
one good chuckle for the day. It seems
they've taken to naming their sandwiches
after auto manufacturers. Now would you
believe that Amphi actually made this very
exclusive list? Yep, she sure did. But can
you guess the contents of her sandwich?
Hint: only 3 main ingredients in the sandwich.
Once again I offer that premium bottle of
fine aged Aguva Tequila for the correct
answer (first correct answer wins, one
guess per Amphi, winner must be present
in Celina 2002 to win). Good luck!

OK, I rise to the bait. The sandwich had mayo, mustard & turkey; i.e., a
Turkey Sub.

Well...whatever the hell THEY might think an "Amphicar Sandwich" ought to
be, all liquored up at the Winery snack bar, for ME an "Amphicar Sandwich"
should have all aquatic-amphibian ingredients: frog legs, maybe duck liver
pat? and watercress all swimming in Thousand Island dressing on a submarine
roll (as a 'memento mori' of amphibian mortality...not "rye" for goodness
sake...What the devil are they thinking? They've really gotta lay off that
moldy batch of Cabernet in the kitchen).
