All that and more

Yes indeed, the out-going IAOC
Board & Prez done out did them-
selves again. Talk about a hard
act to follow. The flag is very
cool and very much appreciated.

As for the amphicar.com web site
suggestions? I hope we hear from
members what are the valuable
resources they use and what
enhancements they would like to
see. We should also consider all
the non-amphibious visitors to our
cyber nook and how user friendly
it is. Maybe some amphibians could
observe while a friend or relative
navigates through the web site and
note what they find amusing. Let
Capt' John know and he'll take it
from there.

I peeked at that gold Amphi in Texas?
pretty cool I must say. Hope the new
owner finds the IAOC and joins us.
Be awesome to have a gold Amphi join
us in Celina 2005!!!

And finally, that Sharper Image
amphibious toy looks VERY fun. But
I'm thinking? if used in the bathtub
ya might consider some swim trunks to
shield yourself from the props.
Here's the direct like:

Be well, swim safe.

Thank you for the direct link to the ampphibious model offered by Sharper
Image. For those of us who are not so computer savvy, that helps a lot. It does
look like a neato toy.

When you say you "peeked" at the gold Amphicar in Texas, do you mean in
person or via some internet picture? If so, is there a direct link you could
share
to let us less literate inter-netters get a look too?

Re Rocky Mountain John's request for future club gift suggestions -

That is a great idea John. The more heads that give thought to such, the
better the choices. Doubtless there are a number of worthwhile possibilities,
but
the more input the better.

Incidentally, the note regarding my "car trouble" is mainly that I finally
hae to tackle my brakes. Being retired, as any of you in this situation know, it
takes longer to get things done and you never ever run out of things that
need doing - with the Amphi and otherwise.

Just my tooo sence worth but please leave very well enough alone as far as
the website goes, its made for people that own and operate Amphicars. Something
that could be done is to give John a raise or at least a really neat BIG
laptop for him to take to Celina for slideshows and info displays. With these
new
changes in leadership I've become confused, which is easily done, is the
website managed by Bill Connelly or John Bevins?
If Bilgy has retired, then the club should buy him a NOS Amphicar for
his service, which like all the other leaders of the club, for the most part
were taken for granted, THANKS FOR THE FLAG but more importantly thank you very
much for all the work that went into getting us to this point. Oh yea, Mark
Schlemmer and his wife should get a matched pair of NOS Amphis for their years
of work for the club and all of us.
Damn I must have taken the vitamins twice this morning or that was a
really good cup of coffee, its still 80 degrees here on the South Coast and no
hurricanes, anyone passing through give me a call, you gotta try some of this
coffee.
One more thing, its been in my head for awhile, how about an award for
the fastest Amphi in the water at Celina, somebody might get hurt on land but
what can happen in the water? Be against the clock on a fixed course, give us
closet hot rodders something to work on in the winter and could be engraved
and passed on to the new winner each time.

Adios, I'm off to Acapulco, damn I wish I had a Fiberglas Amphicar
