After doing the usual one in a lifetime leave the drain plug out in Florida
last year
and this year having the axle bellow clamp on wrong,I have taken some
precations
on my newest Amphicar.
I put in dual pumps.
1 being new style 650 gpm with a automatic float.and manual
switch.(original with lite)
I hooked the auto to make a blue lite come on in the dash.
#2 is a hi volume pump similar to the original on a 2ed manual
swith.(original with lite)
then I put in another auto float hooked up to a red lite and an alarm.
all extra swithes etc, were put in a radio plug so no holes were drilled in
dash.
also made a couple of water elbows so we can see if water is coming out and
filled car with water.
Then swithed wire around on pump(pos Ground)now they work.
Water tested all seams.
Car is now ready for first swim.
Im in no hurry so will wait for boat show in our town in june for big
splash.
Also for road travel Ive added a 2 gallon jug of water to the engine
compartment and put the pump hose in it.When turned on it shots water about
4 feet high and six feet bach when parked.
dont know how far it will go when travling but.....look out tailgaters!!!!!!

Your pumps sound great especially the 2 gallon jug trick.
Where is Orilla on a map, we may be interested in coming to the show.
