Air Diffuser on the top of the carburator/flooding

Guys,

I'm wondering if that "air diffuser" (the thing that looks like a Pc Athlon cooler on the top of the Amphi carb) helps in some way or is useless ?

Another questiont that I have is, my carb is "flooding" since I bought the car. The needle looks right and is closing right. On the base of the needle there is only one wisher, is that right or we should have 2 ones to lower the cube level ?

All inputs will be very apreciated

Thanks for the input Mike !

I have had several carbureted cars (ones with needles that you could open and
clean, in my amphi is sealed) but I never saw this flame arrestor before...

Jacques, The "air diffuser" is a flame arrestor. Gordon Imports sells the carb
rebuild kit. mike

All boats(marine) have a type of flame arrester, they do not even have air filters as there is not to much dust on the lakes.
As you have been to my place you Know I have replacement(Drop on great) Carburators,(exchange!) and have all the parts to rebuild them incl. needle and seats, floats, etc.

Thanks Gord, but today I fixed my carb.

The needle expended the night on the CLR and today was looking like new, and now
is working perfectly, no more flooding. The injector that was not working was
the sealing rubber that was not sealing well, but some good (and gasoline proof)
silicone fixed it. Now the car is accelerating perfectly, no more holes.
