Wow... this board has been jumping lately!
Hard to keep up with all the postings, as
clutches and windshield rubbers(?) sure seem
to be popular topics. Nice to know all these
bytes of Amphi tribal knowledge will be
available on-line should the need arise at
some future date. Thanks to Mike Israel
for keeping this Yahoo board going and to
Bilgemeister for the E-groups archives. I
hope these subsets of our daily lives are
someday fully funded and supported by
all International Amphicar Owners Club
(IAOC) members. If you're not a member
then please get off your moss covered
glutinous maximus and join. Well worth
twice the cost as evidenced by the high
quality newsletters - Thanks to the prez
Marc S., the board of directors, and company.
Well, it appears we have an Amphibian
of the Year Award (AYA) quagmire. I've
received only 24 total votes and would prefer
to get at least 50 to make it legitimate.
And of the 24 votes - we have a tie for
first place. Previous winners (Hugh of
Gordon Imports, year 2000 and Bilgemeister,
year 2001) would tell you what a huge
honor it is to receive the AYA, so
please take 15 seconds and email me a
vote or two. The AYA will be presented
at the Celina 2002 amidst all the typical
jocularity associated with mass groupings
of amphibious life forms.
Off to Puddingstone for a California mini
swim-in event tomorrow. Sadly my Amphi
won't make the 230 mile round trip trek,
nor will Mermaid, but I'm as excited as
a baby beaver in a toothpick factory!!!
Meeting other amphibians, swimming,
and quenching my thirst with amber ale
are a few of my most favorite things.
Be well, swim safe.
