My friend Dave who owns the "warehouse amphicars" as seen in the
photo section.(he owns around 50 or so in different stages of repair)
said it best......"THE PERSON THAT WILL PAY THE MOST FOR AN AMPHICAR
IS THE PERSON WHO DOESN'T EVEN KNOW THEY EXIST YET" If you look at
how the prices have been going up over the years, it must be true.As
more people are aware of them, more people with a lot of money to
spend are more aware of them also.If you had all the money and then
some wouldn't you just go buy what you wanted? At a price that may
seem crazy for some, but not even put a dent in your wallet?

Re: Re: $50,000 Amphicars

Sure, bit the point on this particular car is that it is not worth the price
asked compared to others available. If you look at the auction results people
overpay and underpay all the time. For the educated consumers on this list,
paying well beyond a given amphicars value makes no sense.

Amphis have gone up in value a lot in the past 8 years. They will likely
continue to do so unless the economy tanks. This does not mean you should spend
pebble beach money on a maaco restoration. At the same time, the very best
amphis can and should carry a premium.

Well, I don't own one and from the sound of it, I
never will. It is sad when an enthusiest market turns
into one of greed.

Well if you are looking for the pics of the warehouse cars...they are
in the photo section,if you click show all on the bottom. The pics are
labeled "warehouse amphicars"..One of the warehouse amphicars is
pictured in my backyard as "1967 red"in the pics section. The actual
location of the warehouse is around Boston. But is more or less a
secret, unless the owner decides to take you there...good luck. Gumpit
