In conjunction with the North Texas Region of the CCCA and the Wooden
Boat Assoc. of Texas, we are happy to announce the 2nd annual Classic
Car and Wooden Boat picnic on Saturday, June 24th, from 10:00 a.m.
until 4:00 p.m. at the Pier 121 Marina at Lake Lewisville, at the
northern edge of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.

The inaugural event last year (the Grapevine Getaway) was a lot of
fun, and we have cordially invited the Cadillac/LaSalle Club, the
Packard Club, the Lincoln Owners Club, the Jaguar Owners Association,
and the Rolls Royce Club to come join in the fun this year. There
should be something for every taste and interest with a lot of tire
kicking, splashing, and good conversation to round things out. Plan to
come out and meet some new friends and enjoy some old ones again. A
few pictures from last year's event at Grapevine can be viewed from
Al's site at:
<http://www.amphicar.net/aboat2/GrapevineGetaway/index.html>

We will have plenty of grassy lawn to park on, and the boat club is
promising 20 or more of their beautiful mahogany speedboats to help
you on your trip through the nostalgia.

"Charlie's Restaurant & Club" is onsite and available for food and
drinks, but you might want to bring lawn chairs and umbrellas for
additional shade if you have the ability to do so.

Pier 121 Marina is located at 1481 E Hillpark Rd, in Lewisville. That
is just to the north of Hwy 121, between I-35 E. and The Colony. Look
for the signs.

Please email Al Heath (aboat2 via the amphicar dot net domain) so we
can plan on the appropriate space for parking and displays. This is
not a "show" per se, but a very nice get together with like minded
people who appreciate and respect the classics.

See you June 24th...
Al

It looks like things are really shaping up nicely for our "CLASSICS ON
THE LAKE" car and boat show on June 24th at the Pier 121 Marina at
Lake Lewisville! The boat club has gotten a firm 12 reservations from
their members for their mahagony part. I don't have a complete count
on the other classics.

As an update, Charlie's club & restaurant at the marina will also have
"Oldies" performances by "Elvis" and "The Beatles" that will start at
7:30 that evening. (small Cover charge applies)

As time is getting real close ... not this weekend, but next... ,
this is a friendly reminder to drop me an e-mail via my amphicar dot
address of "aboat2" so we can properly plan.

Thanks,
Al
