We are selling our family's very original 1967 Amphicar with only 26,000 actual miles! It has been collector kept all its life being utilized only sparingly! Today, it remains rust free and ready to enjoy! A great piece for any collection or museum!

In 1962, an American auto manufacture joined up with a German manufacture to produce the first factory built, public dual-purpose vehicle for land and water use. The company was Amphicar and the Model 770 was born. It was a street legal convertible, and a water ready boat all in one! Manufactured in small quantities each year from 1961 through 1965, only 3,878 were said to have been when manufacturing stopped. Late production examples were titled in the year they were first sold & registered, so finding 1966-1968 examples can be common. All of which are now extremely rare and highly prized collectibles!

We are excited to offer this very original 1967 Amphicar Model 770 finished in Beach White with White/Red interior and an original white convertible top. Options include the original, number’s matching Triumph 1147cc OHV 4 cylinder engine with single Solex carburetor, 4-speed fully synchromesh manual transmission, heater with defrost, gauges, polished wheel covers, 4 New All-State Whitewall tires, and dual rear propellers! This example comes with only 26,000 original miles and has been beautifully maintained in original condition!

It maintains original paint, but requires some touch up; few bubbles and peeling on the front hood and one quarter panel, but no rust. The convertible top, weather seals, boot cover, interior, original door panels, sun visors, and upholstery are in original surviving condition. All of the exterior chrome is also original and in perfect condition. It will come complete with an owner’s manual, matching spare tire, jack, navigation light bar, and hood & trunk lock/release key.

This example hails from a large Ohio Amphicar collection, its sister cars are in the Canton Auto Museum and a German museum, and this was the owner’s primary show car taken all over the country and seen in newspapers and on TV Shows. It has always been stored in a warehouse; in storage from 1988-2008. After 2008 it was transferred to another family member who has barely used it, but replaced the clutch, brake system, battery, and performed an overall tune-up on the car. The hull itself is in great condition showing no signs of damage or rust proving it has been dry most of its life.

This car is sold where-is (Lewisburg, PA) and as-is.
